Determination of Volatile Substances in Forensic Samples by Static Headspace Gas Chromatography
The technique of static headspace gas chromatography has great acceptance in the forensic field, especially for the determination of ethanol in biological samples (Macchia et al., 1995; Tagliaro et al., 1992), so most forensic laboratories in the world have this equipment and perform this analysis on a routine basis, but in many of these laboratories, equipment is exclusively employed to determ...
متن کاملVolatile substances of the green alga Scenedesmus incrassatulus.
Volatile substances of the green microalga Scenedesmus incrassatulus, cultivated in fresh and salt water, were studied. Cultivation in fresh water diversifies volatile secondary metabolites. Hydrocarbons and derivatives of the acetate pathway predominate when algae are grown in salt water; isoprenoids and aromatics are more abundant after fresh water cultivation.
متن کاملSampling and simultaneous determination of volatile per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances in wastewater treatment plant air and water
Volatile per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) are often used as precursors in the synthesis of nonvolatile PFASs. The volatile PFASs, which include the perfluoroalkyl iodides (PFAIs), fluorotelomer iodides (FTIs), fluorotelomer alcohols (FTOHs), fluorotelomer olefins (FTOs), fluorotelomer acrylates (FTACs), and fluorotelomer methacrylates (FTMACs), are often produced starting from the te...
متن کاملVolatile Substances in Polymer Toys Made from Butadiene and Styrene
The residual levels and migration behavior of volatile substances were detected using HS-GC/MS for acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer (ABS) toys, thermoplastic elastomer toys, and rubber toys made from 1,3-butadiene and styrene found on the Japanese market. The maximum residual level of these volatile substances was 2600 μg/g of styrene in ABS toys. In particular, the levels of known car...
متن کاملDetermination of non-volatile and volatile organic acids in Korean traditional fermented soybean paste (Doenjang).
Organic acids are formed in food as a result of metabolism of large molecular mass compounds. These organic acids play an important role in the taste and aroma of fermented food products. Doenjang is a traditional Korean fermented soybean paste product that provides a major source of protein. The quantitative data for volatile and non-volatile organic acid contents of 18 samples of Doenjang wer...
